for years now, we have spent the evening of the july 4th and the mclean home celebrating with good food and ice cream. i made the buttermilk ice cream and it was good! my first... we also had some texas sheet cake in honor of lynne’s birthday - sarah said i need to get the recipe. it was a little lonely without tom, he went home on the 30th and back to work in order to pay for all the vacationing the rest of his family was doing so we tried to muddle through without him. you can see we had to work hard, but we managed ...

here we are .. waiting for dark and alec framed with aaron’s fingers. it would have worked better if alec had given us a prettier face! oh, notice the hair cut ... nice.
now it’s time for everyone to part ways and go home ... some of us only had a 30 min drive AFTER we had made our way through the park, but some people had to go all the way home ... blech! we stopped in zion’s and rode the shuttle to the lodge just so carly could buy a tshirt (none of the one’s at the visitor center were any good). then we stopped and ate at in-n-out burger -- we know how to vacation!
